POSITION
Summary:
This role will serve as Workforce Strategy Apprenticeship Operations Manager.
The primary function is supervising Business & Technology staff and labs while providing administrative oversight in managing overall operations of the apprenticeship and related instruction programs for Delta College.
This individual will provide input to the division's hiring/scheduling decisions for adjunct faculty and directly supervise the Learning Resource Manager and the Skilled Trades Office.
This role will assist faculty with grant work and program innovation; in addition, they will oversee budgetary aspects and work directly with faculty to assess resources and instructional needs.
The position further provides technical assistance in delivering programs and curriculum for in-plant journeymen and assisting the Business & Technology Division with recruitment and retention efforts in related programs.
A critical aspect of this position is the company interactions/visits to maintain and establish apprenticeship partners.
It also advises on curriculum currency through relationships with new and existing sponsors, local unions, professional organizations, colleges, and secondary schools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Manage Business & Technology office daily operations and assess program effectiveness and determine future needs.
Produces written reports as required.
Maintain effective working relationships with external corporate partners.
Oversee the completion of all apprenticeship agreements including admissions, enrollment goals, course selection, registration, etc.
Establishes and maintains relationships with professional organizations, local unions, colleges, and secondary education providers to foster a positive relationship with the Business & Technology Division with the ultimate goal of increased student enrollment.
Liaison for Workforce Strategy disciplines with companies/employers for co-op, internships, teaching, and graduate placement.
Actively seeks apprenticeship opportunities with new and existing companies.
Develop and cultivate state-wide partnerships and liaisons with the U.
S.
Department of Labor and Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training for apprenticeship program certification and verification.
Required Qualifications Associates degree or equivalent knowledge and skills.
Additional Experiences Considered Bachelor's degree preferred / Completed apprenticeship or closely related experience.
