We are looking for an individual in recovery to serve as the site coordinator for our CREW (Collegiate Recovery, Education, and Wellness) program at Delta College.
This position is housed on the main campus of Delta College and provides prevention and recovery supports to the campus population.
Purpose of the Position:
To coordinate and provide educational, social, and peer support services for participating students; focused on student retention, academic success, personal development, and recovery protection.
Principal
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the site coordinator position fall into three main categories:
Coaching and Prevention:
Act as a role model to students in recovery/seeking recovery; model/mentor the recovery process, demonstrate healthy life skills and effective academic skills.
Meet individually with students that would like the assistance and accountability of a coach and peer mentor; developing a plan for academic success, student retention, and recovery development/protection Link students with community and student services.
Monitor student progress Maintain contact with students to ensure their on-going success.
Provide re-engagement support if needed Facilitate groups that provide support and accountability; discussing struggles, new ways to approach things and personal insights Teach and strengthen the use of skills needed to achieve and maintain personal recovery and academic success with a focus on student retention and progression Oversight of the Drop-In Center:
Helps oversee the day-to-day functions of CMCREW, including the supervision of interns and student volunteers Help maintain an environment of welcome and acceptance, so that the campus values CMCREW as a place of help and hope Outreach:
Coordinates and participates in campus outreach and student recruitment Serve as an Advisor and Mentor for the student organization and other student-led initiatives including sober social events Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other student organizations associated with the program Conducts formal training or gives instruction regarding program policies and procedures Preparation, Experience, and Skills:
MUST BE IN RECOVERY from active addiction for a minimum of two years; 5 years preferred Prefer 2-4 years working as a recovery coach preferably in a campus setting.
Minimum of two years on campus university education Bachelor's degree preferred in psychology, social work, health education, or other human service fields.
Obtain or maintain CADC and CCAR certification Excellent people skills; experience in outreach, networking.
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective.
Strong professional boundaries; understands confidentiality.
Knowledge of alcohol, drugs, treatment and recovery issues.
Excellent organization, communication, writing and time management skills.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
